Afrovenator

Afrovenator was a midsized carnivorous dinosaur from the late Jurassic period of North Africa, living about 160 million years ago. Afrovenator is one of the largest known predatory dinosaurs from its respective time and locality, lending it the meaning of its name, “African hunter.” This carnivore likely preyed on small to mid-sized herbivores in its environment. Afrovenator could reach 25 feet long, 7 feet tall, and weigh nearly 2,000 lbs. This makes it twice as big as today’s largest carnivore, the polar bear.
