Is everything real?
If we label it as a real fossil or fossil jewelry, then it is absolutely real, with as minimal restoration as possible! If labeled a cast, it is molded off of a real fossil specimen, and painted to match the original. This gives you an authentic copy of a potentially much more expensive or scientifically valuable piece!
Does everything include a hardwood stand and info card?
Absolutely everything at our store includes a custom information card for the species that the piece the customer is purchasing belongs to. Most items do come with a custom hardwood stand, however there are exceptions. Jewelry, pieces still in matrix, or bulk purchases of small items are notable examples of items that do not include a hardwood stand.
Will you ship anywhere?
Yes! As long as the customer covers shipping cost and typical courier companies can access the address, we ship globally!
Don’t these pieces belong in museums or need to be studied?
Great question! We at Primordial are led by a paleontologist and value scientific data more highly than any aspect of a piece. This is why all of our pieces are non-scientifically valuable. They are typically too common, too small of a piece of an animal, or unassociated with more skeletal material to glean information from. Thus, many of our pieces are even rehomed museum or lab collections they decided to part with! Casts on the other hand are copies themselves and are perfect pieces to join any private collection.
I don’t see the piece or species I’m looking for here, will you get it in at some point?
Never say never! Our collection is constantly evolving and changing, we absolutely will continuously get in new species and specimens, so stay tuned! You are also welcome to reach out and make a specific request, and we’d be happy to try to assist you!
Do you only sell fossils, replicas, and jewelry?
Not at all! We also offer identification, private fossil preparation or restoration services, mounting services, educational outreach, guest lectures, birthday parties, and countless other services! Feel free to reach out via our Contact or Services/Educational Outreach page for inquiries.
