Ankylosaurus
Ankylosaurus was a large herbivorous dinosaur that lived in North America in the Late Cretaceous period, about 67 million years ago. Famous for its heavily armored body and clubbed tail, Ankylosaurus is commonly referred to affectionately by paleontologists as a “living tank.” The animal was so well armored, bony scutes could even be found within the eyelids. It used its clubbed tail like a mace, swinging 100 degrees of motion with powerful muscle behind it, allowing it to defend itself from the likes of T. rex.
