Huanansaurus
Huanansaurus was a small Oviraptorid dinosaur from the Jiangxi province of Late Cretaceous China, about 75 million years ago. It was about 5 feet long and 3 feet tall, weighing around 40 lbs. The name of group it belongs to, Oviraptorids, means “egg thieves” This is a misconception. While they were probably omnivores and occasionally ate eggs, the original Oviraptor specimen found hovering over a clutch of eggs was not preying on them as originally thought, but brooding them. This is evidence of parental care.
