Maiasaura
Maiasaura was a duck-billed hadrosaur dinosaur from the North American Late Cretaceous Period. It has been found throughout much of the United States and even commonly in southern Canada, It was a large herbivore, getting over 30 feet long. Its name is Latin for “good mother lizard”. This is because the skeleton of an adult was found alongside nests of hatchling Maisaurs, implying it was mother animal nurturing her babies. This gives a rare insight into the behavior of dinosaurs.
