Mississippi Cretaceous Sharks

Mississippi Cretaceous Sharks
Sharks are a group of predatory cartilaginous fish that first appeared over 420 million years ago, making them older than dinosaurs and trees. These teeth are found in the eastern Mississippi and date back 75 million years. The long skinny teeth belong to the prehistoric goblin shark Scapanorhynchus. The short fat teeth belong to the cow shark relative Squalicorax. The long, triangular ones belong to the great white shark lookalike, Cretoxyrhina.
