Rugops

Rugops
Rugops is a carnivorous dinosaur from the Mid Cretaceous in Africa, about 100 million years ago. It’s name means wrinkly face, referring to the bumpy texture found all along the snout of the skull. The heavily reinforced head of the animal however is common amongst all of its family of abelisaurids, including its more famous cousin- Carnotaurus. Rugops got nearly 20 feet long, 6 feet tall, and weighed over half a ton. It had a large, short head, powerful shoulders, toned legs, but extremely short arms for its size. It even lacked functional elbows.
