Spinosaurus
Spinosaurus was a giant predator from the Mid Cretaceous period in Northern Africa. Despite being the longest predatory dinosaur, at over 50 feet long, it was not the biggest. Other carnivores such as T. rex or its contemporary, Carcharodontosaurus outweighed it. Spinosaurus was likely primarily aquatic, using its tail fin, short hind limbs, flattened feet, and crocodilian like snout to hunt fish. The purpose of the large neural spines on its back that gives Spinosaurus its name and form a sail is still unknown.
