Tanycolagreus

Tanycolagreus was a small predator that stalked the North American forests during the Late Jurassic, about 150 million years ago. Tanycolagreus could have reached 12 feet long, 5 feet tall, & weighed 260 lbs. Despite having a external appearance similar to the later “raptor” dinosaurs, Tanycolagreus is potentially a separate primitive member of a group of dinosaurs that would later become birds. This carnivore hunted under the feet of larger predators such as Allosaurus.
