Torvosaurus

Torvosaurus was a large predator from the Late Jurassic period of North America, living about 145 million years ago. Arguably the largest carnivore in its environment, Torvosaurus reached over 36 feet long, 14 feet tall, and potentially weighed up to 6 tons. Larger and more rare than it contemporary carnivores, it may have hunted differently than the predators it lived with such as Allosaurus and Ceratosaurus. It used not only its heavily muscled forearms but its powerful and deep jaws to hunt.
