Tylosaurus
Tylosaurus was a giant marine predator from the North American seas of the Late Cretaceous, between 90 and 66 mya. It may appear similar to the dinosaurs it coexisted with, but Tylosaurus was actually a giant aquatic lizard in the same family as Komodo dragons. Possibly the largest of the Mosasaurs, the biggest individuals may have reached 52 feet in length and weighed over 9 tons. The apex predator of its ecosystem, Tylosaurus only feared other Tylosaurs and its contemporary cousin, Mosasaurus.
