Zarafasaura
Zarafasaura was a mid sized aquatic reptile from the Late Cretaceous Period of Morocco, about 66 million years ago. Weighing 2-3 tons and reaching lengths of nearly 25 feet long, over two-thirds of this animal’s body length was the neck. This lends the animal its name- “giraffe reptile.” Zarafasaura lacked the ability to chew its fish prey, and most likely swallowed rocks to grind food in its stomach to aid digestion.
