This incredible piece of jewelry is a real piece of ivory belonging to a Wooly Mammoth. This allows its owner to have a real piece of the most iconic Ice Age behemoth around their neck. Closely related to today’s Indian Elephant, they looked very similar- but were often larger and covered in shaggy fur. There were several species of Mammoth, but the most famous is the Wooly Mammoth. These large herbivores were so big that only large packs of predators like Smilodon or Dire wolves could take them down.
