Suchomimus Tooth

Authentic fossil tooth belonging to the bizarre large carnivorous dinosaur, Suchomimus. The Nigerian sediment this rare fossil was preserved in gave it its distinct black and grey coloration and beautifully intact enamel. A rare tooth belonging to a powerful and intimidating carnivorous dinosaur. Comes on a custom hardwood mount. Suchomimus was a large sized piscivorous dinosaur from Africa in the Early Cretaceous period, about 125 million years ago. At 33 feet long and about 4 tons, it was one of the largest spinosaurids. Similar to its cousin, Spinosaurus, it primarily dined on freshwater and brackish fish, Its crocodile like snout also possessed small holes capable of sensing electric signals put off by fish in the water, allowing it to find prey easily.

Tooth is approximately 2" long, roughly 3" tall on mount. Mount dimensions are approx. 2"x2".
