Torosaurus Frill Piece

This huge piece of cast frill bone to Torosaurus is only part of the massive skull of this behemoth. In fact, the specimen this was molded from is the world record holder for largest land animal skull to ever exist, at over 12 feet long. This is one of the first casts ever produced of this specimen, and preserves the incredible detail and immense size of the original animal beautifully. On its custom hardwood stand, its sure to draw attention in any display or collection. Torosaurus was a large herbivorous dinosaur that lived in North America in the Late Cretaceous period, about 67 million years ago. Known for its distinctive elongated & holed frill, this animal possesses the largest skull of any land animal ever. Despite this, the animal was more lightly built than its cousin, Triceratops, who it cohabitated with. Torosaurus also possessed two large horns over the eyes & a stunted triangular boss on the nose. It would have used these in defense against its only predator, T. rex.

Frill piece is approx. 16" tall, 17" tall on stand. Base dimensions are approx. 8"x6".
