Triceratops is undoubtedly one of the most iconic species of dinosaur to ever exist, and the three facial horns it's named for are undoubtedly the most iconic part of the animal's anatomy. Despite the nasal horn being the smallest of the three, this beautiful authentic fossil is still an absolutely large show stopper. Used in self defense against members of its own species and the local apex predator, Tyrannosaurus rex, this horn is a must have for any serious collector. A beautiful chocolate color given by its deposition in the Lance Creek Formation of Wyoming, USA and astounding bone texture speaks to what an incredible piece of natural history this truly is. Comes with a beautiful custom hardwood stand complete with a gorgeous inlay. Triceratops was a large herbivorous dinosaur that lived in North America in the Late Cretaceous period, about 67 million years ago. Famous for its horned face, the two horns above the eyes could get over 4 feet long, and the horn over it’s nose over a foot long. Triceratops was extremely heavily built, weighing 9 tons. This put it at equal weight with its only predator, Tyrannosaurus, despite being half as tall. It used batteries of shearing teeth and a sharp beak to eat plants in it’s environment.

Horn is approximately 8" long, and 6" tall. Approx. 8" tall on mount, base dimensions are about 6"x4".
