Archaeopteryx

Archaeopteryx was a small flying dinosaur from the Late Jurassic of Southern Germany, living about 150 million years ago. The largest specimens were raven-sized, at over a foot and a half long, ten inches tall, weighing about two lbs, and a wingspan of over two feet. An incredibly significant fossil, this animal was the first step in realizing the evolutionary link between dinosaurs and birds. Despite its bird-like body and feathers/wings, it had clawed hands and jaws lined with sharp teeth.
