Allosaurus "Dracula" Skull

A stunning cast molded directly from the Allosaurus jimmadseni specimen, Dracula, everything from the sharply exaggerated lacrimal horns to the elegant jaws filled with serrated teeth makes this skull a must have for any large scale collector of the past. All of the detail is immaculately preserved in this cast, from the wrinkled enamel on the teeth, to the grain of all the bones in the skull. Hand-painted to match the original fossil in every way, and on a customized steel mount, this astounding skull is sure to be the center piece of any collection, display, exhibition, or even just in your home! Includes laminated info card, or laminated sign for framing depending on preference. Dracula’s skull fits snugly and securely into a custom built “grab around” mount that shows off his fearsome jaws. Utah’s own state fossil, the mighty skull of the Jurassic period’s top predator comes off the mount in 3 pieces, and the mount itself is easily dismantled into five main parts as well. Allosaurus was a large meat eating dinosaur that lived in the Jurassic Period, about 145 million years ago. An apex predator of its environment, it most likely hunted in groups, taking down huge long necked sauropod dinosaurs like Apatosaurus and armored herbivores like Stegosaurus. Allosaurus attained sizes of 30 feet long, 10 feet tall, and weighed around 3 tons. Despite being as long as a school bus it was incredibly agile, able to run and even possibly leap. Despite being several dozen times times larger than a Lion, it had approximately the same bite force. Allosaurus compensated for this with a “hatchet jaw” ability- opening its jaws to an incredibly wide 92 degrees, and swinging its skull onto its prey. This Allosaurus specimen, Dracula, has been mounted with the jaws opened to this angle as a representation of this deadly attack.
