Allosaurus was an intimidating and iconic predatory dinosaur from the Jurassic. The base portion of the claw is the authentic fossil, with the tip end being restored using casts of a matching real claw. Allosaurus was a large predator from the North American Jurassic period, living about 145 million years ago. It’s been proposed it lived in groups, using numbers, massive claws, and blade like teeth to take down prey many times larger than itself. Allosaurus was by far the most successful theropod in its environment, several dozen specimens have been recovered by paleontologists, and is Utah’s own state fossil!
Claw is nearly 4" along curve. About 5" tall on mount. Base dimensions are about 4"x2".
