Edmontonia Tooth

An authentic tooth belonging to the armored herbivorous dinosaur, Edmontonia. Spiky and literally armored to the eyelids, Edmontonia would've been an intimidating animal for any local predator to attempt to tackle. This real fossil is an beautiful piece of an astounding dinosaur from the Judith River Formation of Montana, USA. Comes on a gem-jar style custom hardwood mount. Edmontonia was a mid sized herbivorous ankylosaurid dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous period, about 76 million years ago. Reaching over 20 feet long, 6 feet tall and weighing over 3 tonnes, Edmontonia was an armored tank of an animal. Edmontonia was so heavily covered in spiky protective scutes that bone cores can even be found in its eyelids. It may have not only used the largest spikes on its shoulders as protection from predators, but also in rutting competitions against each other.

Tooth nears 0.25", 2" tall on mount, and base dimensions are approx. 2"x 1".
